Eight months on from the floods which devastated parts of Victoria over 1000 people in the northern Victorian town of Rochester are still living in caravans and sheds.

Former mayor of Campaspe Shire, Leigh Wilson, says up to 15 to 20 per cent of residents are living in caravans or sheds, with many being told they can’t return for up to two years.

“We know plenty of people here who are expecting will be out for two years out before they get into their homes from now,” he told Neil Mitchell.
