The ridiculous question health officials asked a mum about her COVID-positive 10-year-old son

A Victorian mother has been left in disbelief after receiving a call from the Health Department checking in on her COVID-positive 10-year-old boy.

During the second call from health officials after her son tested positive to the virus, Libby told Neil Mitchell a health worker apologised profusely for the question she was about to ask.

“She said ‘I’m so sorry, I have to ask this question — is there any chance your son could be pregnant?’,” Libby said.

“She already knew he was 10, she already knew he was a little boy, but she still had to ask this question!

“I couldn’t believe it.

“It makes me despair, the lack of commonsense that is running the show for us all!”
