The search for a maroon Volvo involved in a fatal Berwick stabbing

Homicide Squad detectives are appealing for public assistance to identify those who were in a maroon Volvo and involved in a fatal stabbing in Berwick.

45-year-old Port Melbourne man Daniel Cockerill was a passenger in the car, and was dropped off in the Volvo at Casey Hospital in Berwick with a stab wound.

The driver of the car sought assistance, but then drove off shortly afterwards with the 45-year-old passing away minutes later.

A 40-year-old Port Melbourne man was subsequently arrested by police later that day, however he was released without charge.
