The shocking number of Victorians who’ve been ripped off by their employers

Almost one-in-three Victorian workers have been cheated out of superannuation payments, with a staggering $1.2 billion in unpaid compulsory contributions each year.
CEO of Industry Super Australia, Bernie Dean, says it’s “been going on for too long to be inadvertent”.
Mr Dean says employers are putting superannuation payments on their employees pay slips, but not depositing them.
“Roughly about one-in-three workers all across Victoria are finding out sadly that what’s on their pay slip isn’t the truth,” he told Ross and Russel.
Hospitality, blue-collar trades and service industries are the worst culprits, and most underpayment is by small to medium enterprises.
Mr Dean is calling for the payment of superannuation contributions at the same time as wages to be mandated. Currently, employers only need to make payments quarterly.
