The ‘smartest’ and ‘easiest’ decision Victoria must make to protect credit rating
Tom Elliott is calling for the Victorian Government to cancel its $34.5 billion contract for the Suburban Rail Loop to protect its flailing credit rating.
State Treasurer Tim Pallas has been warned by the 3AW Mornings host to take action and abandon the Cheltenham to Box Hill project to ensure the state doesn’t have to cost cuts elsewhere.

“The bad news is coming,” Tom said on 3AW.
“(The credit rating) will hurt us. The smartest and easiest thing to do is admit the Suburban Rail Loop is a bridge too far.”
