The Sound of Music stars explain what makes the show so captivating

How wonderful that the Von Trapp descendants sent a supportive note to the cast of The Sound of Music, which has opened at The Regent Theatre in Melbourne.

The note was signed by several of the Von Trapps, wishing, on behalf of their family, the very best of success and a wonderful night to the cast.

The latest production of the much-loved show is led by Amy Lehpamer, perfectly cast as Maria, with a glorious voice and incredible stage presence. Cameron Daddo is Captain Georg von Trapp while Marina Prior as Baroness Schraeder is thrilled to be performing in her home town. Jacqui Dark as Mother Abbess is a showstopper.

Lorraine Bayly is wonderful as Frau Schmidt and David James is a delightful Max Detweiler.
