A staggering 210,000 potholes have been repaired in Victoria over the past year.

And “above average” rainfall isn’t helping, according to Paul Northey, chief regional roads officer at Regional Roads Victoria.

3AW has been flooded with complaints from listeners about roads all over Victoria over the past few days after the issue was first raised on-air.

Not only were potholes prominent, many complained repairs were only lasting months before the holes opened up again.

“The wet weather certainly makes it a lot more difficult to do proper fixes,” Mr Northey said.

“We really need a stretch of warmer weather to do more permanent fixing.”
