The theory behind why Melbourne may have the best tasting water in Australia

Victoria’s protected and naturally filtered catchments in the state’s east are the reason why our water could be the best in the country.

That’s the view of Melbourne Water’s David Norman, who told Tom Elliott why Victoria’s renowned water quality is so good.

“The purity of our water is pretty good,” he said on 3AW Mornings.

“We are quite fortunate in the way Melbourne’s water supply is set up, a large portion of our water comes out of our protected catchments. They provide a really natural filter which assists in high-quality water.”
