Luxembourg is about to abolish public transport fares.

But would it work in Melbourne?

“We could certainly do it tomorrow, if you wanted,” Public Transport Professor Graham Currie told Tom Elliott.

“But it’d cost a lot of money.”

$600 million a year, to be exact.
