Tom Elliott has given two examples which highlights why local councils should be scrapped altogether.

It related to both the Whitehorse City Council and the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council.

“It’s another example, and a good one, of why we should get rid of councils altogether, they serve no useful function,” the 3AW Mornings host said.

Dean Hurlston from Council Watch then called in and told Tom Elliott he totally agrees him, saying local councils are a “symptom of a bureaucracy that is bloated” and “useful idiots” for the state government.

“It’s gone mad,” he said.
