The unexpected reason police were called to a UK theatre at the weekend

A theatre performance of musical The Bodyguard was halted in Manchester over the weekend and police were called.

Six police attended the Palace Theatre and the performance was reportedly ended 10 minutes early.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford says the incident was part of a “huge” and growing problem at “jukebox musicals — where people know all the songs”.
