Nick McCallum

Nick McCallum believes the sharp rise in fees to connect to the gas network will disproportionately affect poorer people.

From 2025, households will be forced to pay almost $2,400 upfront to connect their gas, while businesses will be slugged up to $31,000.

McCallum said the cost of living crisis for those who couldn’t afford the added gas fees would only get “worse and worse”.
