The university charging staff and students a ‘106 per cent’ increase in parking fees

Staff and students are alleging Monash University have hit them with surge parking prices without any consultation.

National Tertiary Education Union Monash branch president, Dr Ben Eltham, says staff found out through an email.

“They put the prices up every year, but we totally didn’t realise it was going to be this much this year,” he told Tony Moclair.

In a statement, Monash University said they’re expecting more staff and students on the campus this year.

“This increased campus population will put pressure on the availability of on campus parking at certain times of the year,” they said.
