The ‘unusual’ reason why a school in Melbourne’s north-west has banned scarves
A school in Melbourne’s north-west has decided to ban scarves from the classroom.
And it’s led to outrage, with up to 1500 signatures on a petition to reverse the decision.
“The comments on this petition are wild,” Jacqui Felgate said.
Press PLAY to find out which school it is (and why they’ve decided to ban scarves)
“It’s a bit unusual,” Belinda Hudak, President of the Victorian Association of State Secondary Principals, said on 3AW Drive.
The principal of the school has since clarified that scarves are not banned, but students are being asked to take them off once they are in the classroom with heating on.
The students can wear them to and from school, at lunch and recess and between classes.
