Melbourne’s iconic Hosier Lane has evidently become too famous for its own good.

Some of the city’s top street artists have begun painting elsewhere as less talented artists take over the CBD.

Well-known artist Adrian Doyle told Ross and John the ‘unwritten rule’ of street art had all but disappeared in the laneway.

‘You shouldn’t go over what you can’t do better than,’ he explained on 3AW Breakfast.

‘It’s an unwritten rule.

‘It can end in tears if you don’t live by the rules.

‘I guess Hosier’s starting to get so big now it’s beyond the rules.’
