These photos show Melbourne can still focus on the little things
There some big idea floating around about how we can ‘fix’ Melbourne.
Neil Mitchell reckons our new Lord Mayor could do well to focus on the little things before worrying about “superblocks” free of cars.
“I think it’s time to start sorting out this city,” he said on 3AW Mornings.
“I’ve been reading this Transport Strategy Discussion paper – released by the City of Melbourne – it reads a bit like a Greens manifesto.”

Listener Jeannette Bennett got in touch via email — nmitchell@3aw.com.au — and pointed out that the Flinders Street tiles in the pedestrian underpass from Southbank to Elizabeth Street were absolutely filthy.
Neil Mitchell was also sent footage of the mess along the gutter in Elizabeth Street
