‘They said he couldn’t do it’: Ange Postecoglou makes history as Spurs win the Europa League

Ange Postecoglou has made history this morning as the first Australian manager to win a major European trophy.

General manager at South Melbourne Football Club, David Clarkson, who previously played under Postecoglou, says it’s a beautiful moment for the Australian.

“They said he couldn’t do it, he said he always wins a trophy in the second year, and he got belted around for saying it, but he was just telling the truth,” he told 3AW Breakfast.

The Tottenham Hotspurs won 1-0 against Manchester United in the Europa League final to secure their first trophy in 17 years.
