‘This is a scary one’: Teenage girl raises the alarm after intruder breaks into her home

A 13-year-old girl has raised the alarm after an intruder broke into her family’s Port Melbourne home overnight.

“This is a scary one,” Jody Clayton, Leading Senior Constable at Victoria Police said.

A man entered the Clifford Street property at around 11:30pm last night, while a father and his daughter were asleep inside.

It is believed the intruder stole a mobile phone from under the man’s pillow, then his daughter woke, and called police.

A 27-year-old Redbank man was arrested in the property’s backyard.
