‘This is insanity’: Jacqui Felgate slams ‘vile’ state government land tax slug

Jacqui Felgate has gone off on the “vile” state government land tax slug, which is now impacting local councils.

The 3AW Drive host highlighted the Wyndham City Council in particular, and the long list of properties that the government is charging land tax on.

“This is insanity from a government that is clearly above the law,” she said.

“What kind of world are we living in?”

Former president of the Municipal Association of Victoria, David Clark, said it’s particularly an issue for high-growth councils in around metro Melbourne.

“They’ve got every damn right to be upset,” Mr Clark said about the Wyndham City Council.
