Why cherries will be even more expensive this Christmas
Extreme weather is responsible for the increased price of cherries this festive season, according to farmers.
Stephen Riseborough from CherryHill Orchards spoke with Dee Dee about how the Christmas season has been impacted.
“It’s certainly put a huge delay to our harvest,” he said.

An excess of water can cause imperfections to cherries, and prevent them from being sold commercially.
Stephen therefore highlighted the importance of supporting farmers and rural communities out during these tricky times.
“It’s not been an ideal season… but we soldier on,” he said.
