This kelpie called Seven sold for a world record price — and it actually seems like good value

A pooch called Seven with a strong work ethic has sold for a world record price in western Victoria.
The $22,000 paid for the two-year-old at the Casterton Kelpie Muster smashed the previous world record of $14,000, set in Jerilderie, NSW.
Karen Stephens, from the Casterton Kelpie Association, told Ross and John it wasn’t such an outrageous price for a working dog.
And the boys were pretty well convinced by the time she broke it down.
“They can replace the job of two farmhands,” she explained. “A couple of keplies can round-up 5000 sheep very easily for a farmer.”
“And a kelpie won’t answer back either.”
