This Melbourne road is Australia’s most dangerous crash hotspot
A road in Melbourne’s north-east has been named the most dangerous crash hotspot in Australia for the sixth year in a row.
Collisions at the crash hotspot are down 26 per cent compared to pre-COVID levels, but it remains the worst road in the country, according to the 2023 AAMI Crash Index.
Head of motor customer engagement at AAMI, Tammy Hall, says there’s “lots of opportunity for distraction” and “lots of congestion” fuelling nose-to-tail smashes.
