This Mordialloc man is on a quest to clear the beach of cigarette butts

A Mordialloc man has taken it upon himself to clear the beach of cigarette butts.

Tony Buckle told Tom Elliott he and his team have collected over 10,200 butts in five months.

Mr Buckle said he’s in discussions with the local council about how to keep the toxic butts out of the environment.

‘We’re looking at the potential for cigarette receptacles in beaches and parks,’ he said.

Tom: Do you observe people smoking and then just grinding out the butt in the sand?

Mr Buckle: Who doesn’t?
