‘This one is hideous’: Police ramp up investigation into a cemetery theft in Melbourne’s north-east

Police have ramped up their investigation into a cemetery theft, with an information caravan to be set up in Bundoora today.

It’s believed two men broke into a mausoleum at Preston General Cemetery shortly before 5am on July 30 last year, removing a casket to access a woman’s body, and allegedly stealing a diamond of significant value.

“This is a hell of a case,” Ross Stevenson said.
