Thomas Jackson dies after alleged knife attack at North Queensland hostel
A second person has died after last week’s alleged knife attack at a North Queensland hostel.
Police confirmed on Tuesday that Thomas Jackson, who came to the aid of 21-year-old Mia Ayliffe Chung before her death, had also died as a result of his injuries.
He was taken from Home Hill in a critical condition after the alleged incident, which saw a 29-year-old French man charged.
Queensland Police confirmed it would be upgrading charges as a result of Tuesday’s news.
The French man has also been charged over the alleged killing of a dog and assaulting police.
