Tens of thousands of Melburnians have paid their respects at this morning’s Anzac Day dawn service at the Shrine of Remembrance.
Family, friends, servicemen and women stood in silence at the moving ceremony under the light of a full moon and then morning sunrise.
The Premier and state opposition leader were both on hand during proceedings, as was federal opposition leader Bill Shorten.
Vietnam War veterans then led the Anzac Day parade down St Kilda Road for the first time.
