Thousands prepare for Black Lives Matter rally in Melbourne
Thousands of Melburnians are preparing to take to the streets for a Black Lives Matter rally following fears the racial profiling by police in the US could spread to Australia.
Five officers were killed when a lone sniper went on a rampage in Dallas following two recent police shootings of African Americans.
Maki Issa is among the 6300 people who have expressed interest in attending the rally at the State Library in Melbourne on Sunday.
He told 3AW Mornings Victoria Police had made huge changes to end racial profiling here, but the community must continue to speak up.
