Three arrested following dramatic pursuit at Bundoora

A motorist has described chaotic scenes at Bundoora, as police arrested three youths.

The incident happened on the Plenty Road off-ramp from the Western Ring Road around 9.30am on Friday.

Witness Tim has told 3AW’s Neil Mitchell he spotted a black Mercedes crashing into four or five other cars in an attempt to get out of the area.

‘At first I thought it was just a car running late for something, trying to get through,’ Tim said on 3AW Mornings. 

‘I saw a gentleman with a baton smash the back window, and I thought ‘this looks like a car jacking happening!’

‘All of a sudden, within about five seconds, the car was swarmed with undercover police trying to get these folks out of the car.’ 

Tim says police subdued two males and a female who he believes are in their teens or early 20s, using capsicum spray.

It’s believed the Mercedes was stolen last night.
