Three arrested over shooting at police car in Hoppers Crossing

Investigations continue into the shooting of a police car in Werribee on Thursday, despite the arrests of three people.

A shot was fired from a suspected stolen Nissan Navara on Derrimut Road just before 3.30am on Thursday, hitting a marked police car.

The officers were uninjured but abandoned the chase.

It was revealed on 3AW Mornings the alleged offenders did a u-turn to come back and attack the police vehicle.

A 23-year-old man is under police guard in hospital, a 21-year-old woman has been deemed not yet fit to be interviewed and an 18-year-old woman has been charged on unrelated matters.
