A baby with three people’s DNA could be born in Australia as soon as next year, after eight healthy babies were born via a groundbreaking technique in Britain.

Co-Group Leader of Brain and Mitochondrial Research at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, Professor David Thorburn, told 3AW Breakfast the technique targets “rare diseases in the mitochondrial DNA which complicates offering reproductive options to families to have a healthy child”.
