‘Tick and flick’: changes to telehealth on the way
Changes will be coming to telehealth following concerns the service is being used as a “tick and flick” service so people can get medication they don’t need.
Royal Australian College of General Practitioners president, Dr Nicole Higgins, told Neil Mitchell, the Medical Board of Australia want to implement clear guidelines.
“The thing they’re concerned about the most is people can get these scripts through a text or through an algorithm and never actually talk to somebody or have a consultation face-to-face,” she said.
