Tiger ruckman Ivan Maric in serious doubt for Round 1

Jack Riewoldt has strongly hinted that ruckman Ivan Maric won’t be playing against Carlton in Round 1.

The Tiger star told Sports Today Maric is sore, and the club won’t be taking any risks this early in the season.

‘Ivan’s got a bit of a sore back,’ he said.

‘He’s giving himself every chance of playing, but the season’s a marathon. I don’t think the club sees too much in risking players in the first game.’

Riewoldt said new draftee Daniel Rioli is a ‘very, very talented’ player, who will light up the MCG when he makes his debut.

‘We certainly will be exciting,’ he said.

‘We’ve seen the growth and the maturity in him over the five months we’ve had him.’
