Toddler killed near Warrnambool farming incident
A toddler has died in a farming accident involving a tractor near Warrnambool.
Emergency services were called to the private property at Naringal about 11am amid reports the child, believed to be aged 3, was trapped beneath the tractor.
The tractor was pulling a trailer at the time.
An air ambulance flew to the scene but the child could not be revived.
Nine News Western Victoria reporter Bethan Yeoman told Nick McCallum friends and family gathered at the family house following the tragic incident.
“Family members have stayed in the house and they’ve got lots of cars outside,” she said.
“Lots of family and friends have come around to console the family but they haven’t left the house and won’t be speaking at the moment.”
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death are being investigated by police and WorkSafe.
