A Victorian Greens MP and Tom Elliott have clashed over the party’s public push for a republic, just days after the Queen’s death.

Sam Hibbins swore allegiance to the King on Tuesday, a move he said he was “compelled” to do, but was “inappropriate” and “outdated”.

Tom Elliott questioned why Mr Hibbins swore allegiance, if that was the case.
