Tom Elliott and Simon Castles debate gambling restrictions on 3AW Drive
Tom Elliott wrote a column in Friday’s Herald Sun about why adults had the right to choose whether or not they gambled their money.
Simon Castles wrote a column in The Age on the very same day suggesting there was no such thing as responsible gambling.
It follows a renewed political push to crack down, even ban pokies.
Tom Elliott says adults should have the right to choose how they spent their money.
But Simon Castles said ‘responsible gambling’ was an oxymoron.
‘The point I was making was that gambling isn’t a responsible thing to do,’ he explained.
‘You’re being told to do something irresponsible, responsibly.’
