Stonnington Council is calling on the Victorian Government to reconsider the proposed route for the $11 billion Melbourne Metro Rail project.

Councillor Claude Ullin wants the new train line to include South Yarra Station.

The rail line is to run from South Kensington to South Yarra, but does not stop at that suburb’s station despite passing just metres from it.

Mr Ullin’s comments follow research which contradicts the Andrews government’s justification for not including South Yarra Station in the network.

‘I think the business case they provided was flawed,’ Mr Ullin told Tom Elliott on 3AW Drive.
