Tom Elliott backs Victorian Socialists’ pledge to lower pay of politicians

Tom Elliott has agreed with the Victorian Socialists’ promise to make the basic salary of all members of parliament, if elected, to no more than $87,000, equivalent to a sixth year nurse.

He was surprised with himself for agreeing with the socialists but admits it’s a great decision!

“Lower the pay of politicians, or link the pay of politicians to people who do a real job like nurses,” he said.
