Tom Elliott has gone back-and-forth senior fertility specialist, Professor Michael Chapman, while discussing the latest story of a convicted criminal accessing IVF treatment.

It comes after convicted murderer Alicia Schiller was granted permission last November to leave prison to access IVF treatment, before backing out of the plan.

Now, Victorian prisoner Dale Williams has reportedly impregnated his girlfriend using IVF from inside Port Phillip Prison.

“She wants it to be genetically his, so why not? … I can’t see a problem with it,” Professor Chapman told Tom Elliott.

The 3AW Mornings host said the story is “madness” when talking about the situation to open up his program.

“I actually couldn’t quite believe what I was hearing,” he said.
