Tom Elliott highlights the ‘extraordinary weakness’ in Australia’s economy
Tom Elliott has highlighted an “extraordinary weakness” in Australia’s economy on his program this morning.
It related to the amount of vital fuels Australia has stored that underpin the country’s national and economic security.
“I was quite shocked when I read this … I don’t know how this has been allowed to happen,” the 3AW Mornings host said.

“If somehow those sea-lanes that deliver all that petrol, diesel and avgas somehow got stopped, this country would be well and truly stuffed.”
Former independent senator for South Australia and former submariner, Rex Patrick, then warned of the dire impact the cut-off of vital fuels will have on the country.
“The loss of fuel supplies to Australia will be catastrophic,” Mr Patrick said on 3AW Mornings.
