Tom Elliott says while the government’s plan to introduce minimum age requirements to use social media is a sound idea, ultimately it won’t make much difference.

Victorian premier Jacinta Allan announced the plan late on Monday, while Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says similar laws will tabled before the next federal election.

“I think the horse has well and truly bolted,” Tom said on 3AW Mornings.

“Kids know how to use things called virtual private networks to get around age limits.”
