Tourism Australia has today launched a new campaign and Tom Elliott isn’t a fan.

Aimed at young travellers, the campaign is a parody of a news bulletin featuring stories on Australian places and wildlife.

Tom has called out the ad for perpetuating the Aussie stereotype.

“Kangaroos, koalas, a crocodile, a lovely beach, the Sydney Harbour Bridge,” he said.

“It just seemed to be to be rather cliche.”

When speaking with Tourism Australia’s Managing director, John O’Sullivan, Tom asked why there was no content featuring Melbourne.

“Over the course of the campaign you’re going to see new content added, things like Melbourne street art and some of the fabulous events you have in Victoria,” John said.
