Tom Elliott has again questioned where society actually stands on illicit drugs after a major cocaine seizure in the South Pacific was lauded a success.

He said it flew in the face of those saying users were victims.

“It is no good saying that drug smugglers are evil criminals when you say their customers are just innocent victims,” the 3AW Drive host said on Friday.

“There would be no drug smuggling, unless there was a business at the other end.

“We maintain this ridiculous fiction that if you smuggle or sell drugs you are a criminal, but if you use them, you’re an innocent victim.

“It is nonsense.

“Either both are criminals, or both are not.”
