Tom Elliott has given his stance on what makes a person an Australian following an email from a listener overnight.

He says it’s his belief anyone can be an Australian.

“It is no longer the case that … you’re only Australian if you’re of Anglo-Celtic heritage which until about the 1940’s and 1950’s is what people thought. I think that anybody can come to this country, and as long as they’re prepared to commit to it, and ideally become an Australian citizen, they’ll be Australian,” he said.
