Tom Elliott has shared his take on why Australians are being forced to pay more and more for energy, with prices up more than 34 per cent.

The 3AW Mornings host has blamed various government policies, pointing to what he calls the “demonisation” of coal.

“And the likes of Chris Bowen, the Energy Minister, say ‘Oh well, let’s replace them with renewables’. Well, we’re about halfway through that project, and it’s not working,” he said.

CEO at the Australian Industry Group, Innes Willox, then weighed in on the “concerning” inflation data.

“Energy intensive industries are now finding it very hard, if not impossible to operate,” Willox told Tom Elliott.
