A number of war memorials across Port Melbourne have been vandalised just ahead of ANZAC Day tomorrow.

The statues splattered with red paint and anti-war slogans including ‘no warships’ have since been high-pressured off by the local council.

3AW police reporter Madelaine Burke told Tom Elliott that “just in the last few months, we’ve had similar attacks on memorials in Caulfield, Elsternwick, and Flagstaff Gardens”.

Press PLAY to hear Tom Elliott react to the outrageous graffiti

“The fact that they’re scrawling anti-war messages—war memorials to the dead are not a pro-war message. They’re meant to be an anti-war message,” the 3AW Mornings host said.
