Tom Elliott questions Scott Ryan about the proposed expansion of the Snowy Hydro Scheme

Article image for Tom Elliott questions Scott Ryan about the proposed expansion of the Snowy Hydro Scheme

The ambitious plan to expand the Snowy Hydro Scheme would form just one part of Australia’s energy supply solution, according to Senator Scott Ryan.

He told Tom Elliott it was a complex issue.

Taxpayers could be forced to foot a $2 billion bill, should the plan go ahead.

It would provide enough extra energy to power half-a-million homes.

‘As the PM said, there’s no single answer,’ Mr Ryan explained on 3AW Drive.

‘This is a complex problem that’s developed over a long period of time and there’s going to be more than one part to the solution.’
