The ambitious plan to expand the Snowy Hydro Scheme would form just one part of Australia’s energy supply solution, according to Senator Scott Ryan.

He told Tom Elliott it was a complex issue.

Taxpayers could be forced to foot a $2 billion bill, should the plan go ahead.

It would provide enough extra energy to power half-a-million homes.

‘As the PM said, there’s no single answer,’ Mr Ryan explained on 3AW Drive.

‘This is a complex problem that’s developed over a long period of time and there’s going to be more than one part to the solution.’
