Tom Elliott quizzes Jacinta Allan over Suburban Rail Loop

The Allan government is pushing ahead with plans to build the first stage of the Suburban Rail Loop but the Premier admits the total cost of the project remains unknown.

The eastern portion of the project — from Cheltenham to Box Hill — will cost an estimated $30 billion to $35 billion.

Speaking to 3AW’s Tom Elliott, Premier Jacinta Allan said a figure suggesting the total project will cost $200 billion was “based on some really incorrect inputs that were put about by the Liberal opposition”, but dodged questions about an alternate figure.
