Tom Elliott reacts to ‘extraordinary’ press conference answer from New Zealand PM

New Zealand’s recently appointed Prime Minister has gone viral after he was unable to define what a woman was when pressed by a reporter.

Chris Hipkins was asked how he and the government defined a woman but said he wasn’t prepared for the question and that “people define themselves”.

“It’s extraordinary, isn’t it?” Tom Elliott said on Tuesday.

Sean Plunket was the reporter who asked the question and told Tom Elliott he was stunned by the lack of traction the answer had got in New Zealand.

“Nobody in New Zealand’s mainstream media has even followed that story,” he revealed.
