Tom Elliott says government should bring back national service

Tom Elliott has backed the push to bring back national service.

The 3AW Drive host says all 18-year-olds should be forced into a period of compulsory service in the armed forces.

“I think reintroducing conscription for all 18 year olds, for six months to a year, would be an excellent idea,” he said.

His reasons? To lower the crime rate by engaging disaffected youth and to also curb the growing trend of “kidults.”
