Tom Elliott says the AFL should stay away from gay pride and other political messages
This weekend the AFL will host a special gay pride match, showing their support for the LGBTI community.
Tom Elliott says the AFL should leave it alone.
‘Not a single professional AFL footballer has come out and admitted he is gay, speaks volumes.’
Tom says when he goes to the footy, he wants is to simply watch the footy.
‘Footy is simply that, footy, why make it bigger than what it is?’
‘I don’t want to be lectured, I don’t want a political message.’
‘I don’t care if it’s about indigenous culture or gay players or multiculturalism or women’s issues or whatever.’ – Tom Elliott said on 3AW Drive.
‘We can talk about those sort of things on this program, and we do.’
